General Manager Update (June 29, 2018)

Good Morning and Happy Friday! Here is the newest update from our General Manager:

Phase III:

Our construction tech has flagged drop routes along Butterfield Dr.  starting from Fox Fire Dr. going Northeast to Willow Way.  His efforts include Maple Drive, Willow Way, & Willow Lane.   There has not been extra flagging done this week while we wait for the drop crew to complete the majority of what is listed above.

The drop crew has nearly completed all the projects on Fox Fire Dr. and Maple Dr.  Look for activity to start on Willow Way & Willow Ln next week.

With the drop crew getting most of Fox Fire Dr. and Maple Dr. completed the splicing crew will not be far behind.  Look for them to be in the Fox Fire Dr. area next week.

Our installing team has had much success with scheduling appointments.  They have completed most, not all, of the new installs for the Rock Creek Dr. area.  We will continue to move quickly behind the crews to get our patient customers installed as safely and quickly as we can.

Optic Communications will be closed on Wednesday to observe Independence Day.  Please have a safe and wonderful 4th of July. If you have any questions about our services, we can be contacted at (855) 806-7325 or visit our website at https://optic-communications.com/cities/loma-linda-mo/

General Manager Update (June 22, 2018)

Good morning Loma residents.  It is time for my weekly update about where my teams are working.  First off, I’m sorry to those residents that are experiencing the sudden shutdown of Wisper.  That is certainly unfortunate for those customers and company to have such a critical event on short notice.  I’m certain that with this change of events some residents of Loma Linda will be looking for options. My teams will continue to press forward as safely and quickly as possible.  If a resident had elected to bypass the Optic offering in Phase I or II there will be a longer timeline to you receiving service. We are committed to completing installs to our Phase III customers that have been patiently waiting for their services and we would like to thank those customers for their continued patience.  The $500 installation fee will also remain for Phases I and II. The installation fee will remain at $250 in Phase III

Now to the 6/22/18 update.

Phase III:

Our construction tech has flagged drop routes along Butterfield starting from Fox Fire going Northeast to Willow.  His efforts include Maple Drive, Willow Way, & Willow Lane.

The drop crew has completed the Rock Creek area and have moved over to the Fox Fire Drive area.   What you will see after the drop wire crew is complete will be a gray box and conduit that will be mounted to the side of your home with a fiber drop coiled up.

The splicing team is following closely behind in the Rock Creek area.  They are fusing the splices between the main fiber and your drop as well as prepping the tail that was left in the grey box at your home.

My installing team is the last step.  When you get a call from our installer trying to set up an appointment, please get back to us ASAP.  This team follows closely behind the splicing team to ensure that we are completing your services in a timely manner.

Thank you,

 Todd Van Epps

General Manager Update (June 18, 2018)

Happy Monday neighbors and I hope the start of summer is treating you all well.  My team receives multiple calls weekly asking about the progress of Optic’s Loma Linda project.  I will attempt to do a weekly update that will keep the Loma Linda residents some what up to date.  Please feel free to respond to any update that is relevant to the work team’s whereabouts.

I will start with something you all probably know, all main line fiber for this project has been placed.  Phase I & II; all drops have been placed, spliced, and installed.  We will not likely come back to any Phase I or II customers to do construction until after Phase III is complete.

Phase III: Optic Construction has flagged all the drops for North LL Drive to Butterfield including Walnut Dr., Rose Bud Cir., and Rock Creek Dr.  He has also started to make his way up Butterfield Dr. and has staked the tap roads of Butterfield Pl. and Fox Fire Dr.  The plow crew that will install a line to your house is currently working in the Rose Bud Cir area.  The splicing team is currently working in the Rock Creek area.  The last group to update is my install team and they follow closely behind the splicing team and they are setting up appointments daily.

My team continues to diligently work their way around the Loma Linda property.  I thank you for your patience as we do our best to get customers turned up every day.

Thanks again,
Todd Van Epps

Optic Communications continues work with Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas

Optic Communications is constantly working to have the best network for our customers. We greatly enjoy seeing what our customers are able to accomplish with our network. Optic is proud to continue working with Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas and to see their growth with our services.

Optic Launches New Fiber Registration System!

Constructing a world-class fiber network is a difficult process that has many steps to it. At Optic, we strive to as transparent as possible with this process. To aid in our transparency, we are launching a new fiber registration system that was custom-built for Optic Communications. With our new system, those that have expressed interest or have signed up for service will be able to check for updates during the process in real-time. Each individual user will be able to tell exactly where they are in the process and what still needs to take place! We hope that this system will improve the understanding of the process of constructing a fiber network.

In the coming weeks the new system will be automated so that updates are available as soon as they happen. Customers wanting a brief explanation of each step in the construction process can hover over the process for a description and estimated time to completion.

Optic Expands Network Due To Pittsburg Growth

Optic Communications is announcing further expansion of its fiber-optic network in Pittsburg. The latest growth will enable the company to provide service to small businesses in areas of Pittsburg for the first time. Optic’s network growth comes largely credited to a robust Pittsburg economy and success of the company’s already-installed network.

The first area to receive small business services from Optic will be along North Broadway from 23rd Street north to Atkinson. Businesses along both sides of Broadway will be able to hook up to the gigabit fiber-optic network.

“When we originally announced the Pittsburg network, we said we were going to focus on large enterprise customers. Our success in that area has directly caused us to expand our services to small businesses now,” stated Optic Marketing Manager Nick Saporito.

Optic began operating in Pittsburg in 2015 with a multimillion dollar investment into its Crawford County network. The investment has yielded a geographically-redundant network that has specialized in custom services for Pittsburg’s large businesses.

This expansion will be one of two major expansions for Optic. The company is concurrently expanding to Loma Linda, Missouri; its first Missouri market. Optic will continue to grow following the demand for the best service in the area.
